hey guys–
sent another care package last Saturday hope you are getting them

Siv and Marjorie and i hike virgin falls last Sunday–i barely made it the ten miles there–do not know if i could ever do 20 like you all!! way to go!! It was beautiful and i remembered hiking there with missie her junior year of college and gettin caught in the dark and Missie getting us out in the dark without a light of any kind–

and of course being there last November to celebrate laura’s birthday and camping at the base of the falls and watching it under the full moon–and enjoying it with Missie and Reuben and violet and bob and laura–

this time it was very dry–the creek beds were just a few stagnant pools–big branch falls had a drip about every 20 seconds–big laurel falls were at least a dribble-and even virgin falls was low on water–i had thought since it was underground river fed it might not be low–but this just let us see all the beautiful rock formations that the water always hid before–so it was still beautiful–

i look forward to going there in may to see the wildflowers and invite you all to come too!!

Hey Reuben and Missie. Just got a call from your mom, Missie. She has our phone #. We are in Lynchburg, VA. I don’t know the landmarks on the trail but will try to find out. This is central Virginia so I guess you have some time before your near. We are hoping to see you then for good food and showers etc. Looks like you are having a cgreat time.

Does anyone plan on spending a few days on the trail with them? I certainly do. It sounds awesome.

I kinda wish my dog was on the trail, too. The backyard is fascinating and all, but Maine looks beautiful.
