Violet looking at the mountains

This is one of my favorite pictures of Violet.  It portrays the feeling of calm vastness that is an essential element of the Appalachian Trail.  There is so much there, so much to see and you can only get an idea of the grand picture.

Happy New Year!

This is our picture at midnight celebrating the New Year. We went up to Springer Mountain for a New Year’s bash with some other hikers up there. We met up with old friends, Alpine and Princess Brat, and Violet finally got to meet their pups Talon and Odie.
