This is one of my favorite pictures of Violet. It portrays the feeling of calm vastness that is an essential element of the Appalachian Trail. There is so much there, so much to see and you can only get an idea of the grand picture.

We have decided to refocus the blog to our outdoor adventures. These adventures will include mostly backpacking, but also biking, geocaching, hiking, and some other travel adventures that may occur. We will be talking about hikes we are planning as well as some other things.

Yesterday Missie and I took Violet for a walk out to Edwin Warner Park. We hiked the Harpeth Woods Trail and found a geocache entitled bats (GCN4VR).
