Sunday, Lunar, Violet, and I attended this event and had such a great time! It makes us sad to leave Columbus because we have just discovered such a great community.

The event started with a Poker Run…which, just like in motorbiking, is when you hit up 5 locations and pick a card. When you get to the end, you open your envelopes of cards and see who has the best hand! We won 2nd place with 2 pairs (aces and 10’s). Then we ate hamburgers and hotdogs, had cake, etc. The kids had a contest to see who could decorate the best ammo can. It was a very pleasant day.

Here is a picture of us finding our final cache for the poker run:

Here is one of the best ammo cans:

We had reservations to stay at Sue’s place in El Yunque National Park, but before we got there, we decided to go to the dry forest in Guanica and look for another geocache, this time GCXBH7 Karate Kid. This was a pretty long walk and we got a bit of a late start so it was very hot. John, Greg and I endured and made it to this cache and left travel bug GCXBH7 Unite for diabetes.

The dry forest doesn’t sustain very large flora and must be nearly desert because there were a variety of cacti and small trees. The Yucca (below) was however much larger than any I have ever seen. Greg is short, but it towers above him.
