Susan and I planted a fall garden at the house in Brentwood yesterday. We have been doing a lot of gardening and landscaping in the time that I have been here. It is unfortunate that I will not be here for the fruition of this garden, but there is always next year.

Blueberry picking

Today Susan and I went blueberry picking at a church that has a patch where you are able to go and pick for donations.
I have been trying to send a couple photos of the blueberries, but we are having some technical difficulties as far as that goes. For some reason, my postie is deleting the messages whenever I go to check it. Greg has been helping me try to figure it out, but we are hitting a wall. I am sure we will figure it out before too long and photos will ensue.
I got a new phone, so I should be able to be updating with photos more often whenever we get this little problem sorted out.

So yesterday I made it to where we will be living for the next couple years in Brentwood TN at Missie’s mom’s house.

Hey everyone! I am in Nashville now and just now getting to feel settled in. I spent the last week scrubbing and organizing this hizzy…especially the Kitchen! It now looks lovely and I am not sure what to do now….besides begin tackling yard work!

FYI, we decided last December that we would move to Nashville because my mother is looking to retire and spend some time abroad. She needed someone to come and help her get her house ready to sell…which is where we come in. We’ll be here in town assisting her with painting, flooring, plumbing, renovating, decorating, etc….all in exchange for free rent….which you can’t beat.

So, yes, we are moving in with my mother…into a huge 4 bedroom house that affords us our own apartment, really…so its not so bad. Plus, she’s leaving the country for 6 month periods at a time…and needs housesitters….so we’re feeling good about our decision.

I’ll be teaching at Stratford High School and am getting excited/nervous. The school year starts in less than a month! Wish me luck!

Today is the last day that Violet and Claude are going to get to hang out for a while. As you may know, Missie got a teaching job in Nashville, TN and we are going up there this weekend to take her and most of our stuff up. I still have another month at OTP, so I will be back in GA on Monday. I will be heading up to Nashville for the month of August and then I am going to head up to Pennsylvania to help my dad with his business (www.keystonetarps.com) for a couple months, until he gets back from hunting in Montana.
